The villa in Calistoga is found thru winding roads and hills off the main Napa highway. The owner hosted the team of Le Reve with tastings of his small, estate bottled reds and whites, Amici.

Our lunch with the gang of Le Reve, was at Tra Vigne. One of the most beautiful days as well as one of the best glasses of wine ever.

Fabien and Le Reve at Franciscan

Franciscan, now part of the Icon Estates family, is a great winery that hosts food and wine pairings. The day we were there, the group tasted five foods with five wines, each switching the different foods with the different wines...25 pairings, some working, some really not.The perspective from the winery was interesting:food enhances the wine. We are all used to wine enhancing the food. Different perspectives.

Le Reve in California

After driving in from San Francisco, Chef Weissman and Maureen took us to Opus One. Our first glass of wine in Napa, was Opus One, 2004. The weather was perfect and all were appreciative of the days that would follow.The taste and tour of the winery was impressive as we approached the structure of the winery. The paths merged from blades of green grass to shades of white, Texas limestone.
